We stock a wide variety of natural stone, such as Marble, Granite, Travertine and Onyx. We also stock a large variety of quartz.
Generally Marble and Granite stones are the most popular and are the most used for kitchen benchtop applications. Marble has long been considered the king of natural stone, and for good reason – marble products are incredibly strong and display natural markings that make for striking interior design elements. It should be noted that Granite is one of the most durable and non-porous natural stones available and its properties help it resist staining, etching and retain a fine lustre over long periods of time. Travertine make an ideal choice for outdoor pavements such as around the pool or garden.
Almost half of the new benchtops installed in Australia are made from quartz or engineered stone. And whilst many big brands promote engineered stone as the most cost effective and durable stone it isn’t very robust and the surface will likely chip on impact; it’s not recommended for installation close to heat sources, making it unsuitable for splashbacks; and while it doesn’t stain easily, it’s not completely nonporous, so will stain if the wrong liquid is left on it for too long.
Yes, however it is important to note that some natural stones perform better than others in terms of their durability, scratch resistance and reaction with acidic substances. It really comes down to the budget and preference.
Depending on your project requirement we can quote you either per square metre or per slab whichever is more cost effective for you. Providing us with accurate measurements will give us the best tools to work with you.
Yes. We stock designer and standard range of engineered stone.
All natural stone products are re-sealed every 1-3 years which is a very simple procedure taking less than 5 minutes.
The standard thickness is 20 mm. Depending on the quality of stone. Some extremely high quality stone can be polished down to 4mm for floors and feature walls purposes.
No two slabs will be the same. There can be significant pattern changes from one block to another and we recommend visiting our showroom to see the slabs and appreciate the variation of the material.
Natural stone is quarried from all over the world. The analytical data of stone tells us that all stone is formed from the same minerals. However, what makes stone different is the selection of quarried blocks, the machinery used to process it and the craftsmanship. We import from our own processing companies that use the latest technology to process and finalise stone.
All stones are formed in natural environments and are the result of a combination of mineral processes and the geological processes. The result determines if they are more or less suitable for outdoor use and their weather endurance.
Generally, it takes 8-10-weeks to import a slab as this process largely depends on the factory availability. We confirm all this with you prior to ordering to give you a more accurate ETA.
Our experienced stone consultants are happy to meet with you any time. No appointment is necessary at our Showrooms. We are open from Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm.
